Rajkot International Airport in Hirasar, Gujarat was inaugurated on July 27, 2023. The airport is located near Rajkot and is reported to have the longest runway in the state. The airport has the capacity to handle 1,280 passengers per hour during peak hours. The airport is built over 2,534 acres area with a cost of Rs 14.05 billion. The terminal building is Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment (GRIHA) – 4 compliant, with various features like double insulated roofing system, LED lighting, and low heat gain glazing, among others, at the new terminal building.
