Kerala government will include Aluva WTP under Kerala Urban Water Services Improvement Project

The government of Kerala has decided to include the Aluva WTP under the Kerala Urban Water Services Improvement Project (KUWSIP) being funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The project involves the construction of a 190 mld capacity WTP at Aluva, a collection well in the river near the existing 225 mld capacity WTP, a raw water pumping system, a 1,400 mm pipeline and overhead storage tanks to augment the supply of drinking water in the areas under the corporation, five municipalities and 13 panchayats. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 4.95 billion. KUWSIP includes water supply improvement in two cities of Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala through rebuilding resilient and sustainable infrastructure under the Rebuild Kerala Development Program. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 250 billion which is being funded by the ADB and state government.
