A new air traffic control (ATC) tower cum technical block will be constructed at the Tiruchirappalli International Airport in Tamil Nadu. The total cost of the project is estimated to be Rs 0.51 billion with a completion period of 2 years. This development is a part of the expansion and upgradation work of the airport comprising the ongoing construction of a new integrated passenger terminal building, and a new apron, among others. The height of the new ATC tower will be 46 metres. It will be constructed to facilitate a 360-degree view of the airport and will be built between the existing passenger terminal and the new passenger terminal.
