Tamil Nadu sanctions funds for road development under CRIDP in Tamil Nadu

The Government of Tamil Nadu (GoTN) has sanctioned funds worth Rs 60.33 billion for road development projects under Comprehensive Road Infrastructure Development Programme (CRIDP) in 2023-24. The state is taking up 200 km of four-laning and 600 km of two-laning works under the Chief Minister Road Development Programme (CMRDP), road safety works at Rs 1,500 million, roller crash barrier at Rs 1 billion along hairpin bends in hilly roads and dangerous bends.
As part of the CRIDP, the widening and improvement of the road leading to the newly constructed arena for Jallikattu in Alanganallur would be taken up at Rs 217 million. While a bypass road to Tiruchengode town would be constructed at Rs 1,510 million. A bypass to Namakkal town would be constructed at a cost of Rs 1,940 million.
Additionally, GoTN has released funds worth Rs 1 billion for implementation of the Teynampet-Saidapet Four Lane Elevated Corridor Project.
