With an allocation of approximately Rs 370 million, the NHAI intends to construct a concrete tunnel on the Mumbai-Kolkata NH-53 at Laxmi Dungri area in Sambalpur city. The project aims to ensure safe travel and minimise disruptions caused by landslides.
The geotechnical survey is currently underway, and upon completion, the tunnel design will be finalised. Construction is scheduled to begin by September 2023.
