The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai has expanded its security check facility and the international terminal building along with the addition of eight security lanes. A brand new domestic to domestic transfer facility has also been added as a part of the first phase of the project. The processing area at the pre-embarkation security check (PESC) has been increased from 4,370 sq m to 5,735 sq m as a part of the second phase of the project. Currently, PESC provides a contiguous processing area of around 2,075 sq m making it one of the largest across various airports in India. The airport now has a total area of 5,735 sq m for security screening along with a domestic transfer security check area of a total of 328 sq m.
