The Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) has revived the Gargai Dam water supply project. The construction work is currently ongoing. The project was earlier shelved due to environmental issues. The project involves the construction of a 972 m long and 69 m high roller compacted concrete dam across the Gargai river, water tower, and a 2 km long tunnel from the proposed Gargai reservoir to the existing Modaksagar reservoir and other allied worksat Ogade village in Wada taluka in Maharashtra.
