In order to reduce its carbon footprints, Indian Railways (IR) is taking several initiatives. To this end, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between IR, Government of India and United States Agency for International Development/India (USAID/India) on June 14, 2023 for collaboration on Renewable energy and Energy Efficiency. Through the MoU, technical assistance and support would be provided to IR.
