The construction work on sewage treatment plants (STP) in Mapusa and Colva under the Goa sewerage project has been completed and the STPs are likely to be commissioned soon. Presently, 5.4 million mld STP in Mapusa is in the testing phase and 7.5 mld STP in Colva is awaiting the transformer installation and testing. After the completion of these stages, STP at Mapusa will be fully commissioned while STP at Colva will be partially commissioned. The project involves providing sewage facilities to three areaas of Goa which includes Margao, Mapusa, and the coastal belt of North Goa. It is being funded by the Japan International Co-operation Agency.
