CEA notifies guidelines for field efficiency test in hydropower plants

The CEA has notified guidelines for field efficiency test in hydropower plants including pumped storage plants. The objectives of these guidelines are to provide a uniform approach for carrying out the said test, and minimise disputes between the project authority and the supplier of the units in the project. The guidelines will be applicable to any size and type of unit comprising generator – motor and an impulse/ reaction turbine and a pump-turbine above unit size of 5 MW.
