The Uttar Pradesh government has approved the proposal to construct the Gorakhpur Elevated Road Project. The project involves construction of a 4 km-long elevated road on the Gorakhpur bypass in Ayodhya at an estimated cost of Rs 2.64 billion. It will be implemented by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and will start ahead of Azamgarh Ambedkar Nagar underpass, ending before the Sarayu River bridge.
