MoPSW announces Panch Karma Sankalp

The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW) has announced five major initiatives (Panch Karma Sankalp), focus on green shipping and digitalisation of ports to make India a global leader in the maritime sector. These initiatives include provision of 30 per cent financial support for the promotion of green shipping. Jawaharlal Nehru Port (JNP), V.O. Chi­dambaranar Port, Paradip Port, Deendayal port and Kandla port will procure two tugs each under the Green Tug Transition Programme. More­over, Deendayal port and V.O. Chidambaranar Port will be developed as green hydrogen hubs, and JNP and V.O. Chidambaranar Port will become smart ports by 2024. Additionally, a single-window portal will be desig­ned to facilitate and monitor river and sea cruises.
