ICF to produce 77 Vande Bharat trains in 2023-24

Integral Coach Factory has set a production target of 77 Vande Bharat rakes in 2023-24. It will also release a prototype of Vande Bharat sleeper rakes and air-conditioned Vande metro rakes, which will be a replacement for mainline electric multiple unit trains, to be operated on 150 km routes. Reportedly, the production of the chair car version of these trains will be ramped up as constraints such as availability of integrated chip and wheels have been overcome, and more trains will be produced per month, using prefabricated components.
