The biennial Integrated Water Resources Action Plan (2023-25) was launched by the Haryana government on June 9, 2023. The objective of the action plan is to cater to water depletion and waterlogging challenges. It will also serve as a roadmap for achieving targets of water saving and water management in the state. Reportedly, the total water availability in Haryana is 20.94 trillion litres, while the total demand for water is 34.96 trillion litres. Various water supply departments in the state will take initiatives for conserving around 6.97 trillion litres of water through various demand- and supply-side interventions till 2025.
