55 per cent households provided with tap water connections in rural India under JJM

As of June 1, 2023, the Jal Jeevan Mission has provided 55 per cent of households with tap water connections in rural India. The government has set a target to cover over 70 million households in the next 15 months under the mission. The aim is to increase the per capita per day availability of water to approximately 135 litres per person by 2030 as compared to the current 55 litres
