In a notable development, the Union Cabinet approved HUDA City Centre to Cyber City Metro Rail Project, Gurugram with spur to Dwarka Expressway at an estimated cost of Rs 54.52 billion. It is likely to be completed by 2027. The project involves development of 28.5 km long metro route in Gurugram, having a total of 27 elevated metro stations. The Government of Haryana has proposed to construct a metro link from Palam Vihar to Dwarka Sector 21 to facilitate connectivity between upcoming Gurugram Metro and the Blue Line of the Delhi Metro. The project will be implemented by Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation Limited (HMRTC). HMRTC will be set up as a 50:50 special purpose vehicle (SPV) of the Union Government and Government of Haryana after a sanction order is issued.
