Commercial production at Barmer Refinery to commence by December 2024

The commercial production at Barmer refinery-cum-petrochemical complex is likely to commence by December 31, 2024. The project involves setting up of a 9 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) capacity oil refinery-cum-petrochemical complex in Barmer district of Rajasthan. It is being implemented by Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited and Rajasthan State Refinery Limited, having the equity stakes of 74 per cent and 26 per cent respectively. The refinery will process the locally available crude from the oilfields of Cairn India Limited in Rajasthan along with other categories of fuel. The complex will produce motor fuels with the latest environmental specifications.
