Integral Coach Factory (ICF) has set a production target of 77 Vande Bharat rakes in 2023-24. It will also release a prototype of Vande Bharat sleeper and air-conditioned Vande metro, which is a replacement for MEMU trains to be operated on 150 km routes. Reportedly, the production of the chair car version of the trains will be ramped up as constraints such as availability of integrated chip and wheels have been overcome and more trains will be produced per month using pre-fabricated components.
