Uttarakhand completes electrification of its rail network

In a notable development, Uttarakhand has completed electrification of its entire broad gauge network. Trains run by electric traction on the electrified sections will result in an increase in the speed of trains and enhance haulage capacity. This brings Indian Railways a step closer to its aim of 100 per cent electrification of all broad gauge network by 2023-24.
