Foundation stone for second cargo gate of Land Ports Authority of India laid

On May 9, 2023, the foundation stone for second cargo gate of Land Ports Authority of India was laid and various projects of Border Security Force at integrated check post Petrapole in West Bengal were inaugurated. There has been a significant increase in the number of land port cargo and passengers between 2016-2022. Moreover, the trade amount has increased from Rs 180 billion in 2016-17 to more than Rs 300 billion presently. Over 2 million passengers moved through the land ports during 2022-23. Additionally, after the construction of the passenger terminal building in Petrapole in 2021, the movement of about 11,000 passengers daily, has been facilitated.
