PMC shelves Uruli- Fursungi’s sewerage projects

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has shelved sewerage projects for Uruli- Fursungi areas in Pune, Maharashtra. The Uruli- Fursungi areas have been demerged from the PMC and will now come under the Fursungi Uruli Devachi Municipal Council. Funds worth Rs 1.2 billion earmarked for the two areas will now be provided to the nine other merged areas of the PMC. The scope of work earlier finalised for 11 merged areas included construction of 93.5 mld sewage treatment plant (STP) at Manjari Bu and 12 mld STP at Mundhwa- Keshavnagar, disposal of 111 km sewage, 57 km main sewers, improvement of 14 km existing sewers, etc. in Shivne, Dhayari, Ambegaon Khu, Ambegaon Bu, Undri, Uruli Devachi, Fursungi, Mundhwa (remaining Keshavnagar), Hadapsar and Lohgaon at an estimated cost of Rs 3.9 million. The new scope of work will be finalised soon.
