Flight operations begin at Chennai airport’s new integrated terminal building (T-2)

Flight arrival and departure operations started at the new integrated terminal building (T2) of Chennai airport on April 25, 2023. The terminal involved an overall investment of Rs 24.37 billion and was inaugurated on April 8, 2023. This terminal will increase the airport’s capacity from 23 million passengers per annum (mppa) to 30 mppa. Further advanceme­nts will be undertaken at T2 by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) before shifting all international flights to it by end May 2023. The airlines have asked for the provision of additional facilities such as flight information boards, immigration and check-in counters, aerobridges and signages before they shift their flights.
