Under the PM Gati Shakti initiative, 101 projects worth Rs 608.72 billion have been identified for implementation in the ports and shipping sector. Of these, 13 projects, worth Rs 44.23 billion, have been completed. The PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan is a transformative approach for integrated and holistic planning to improve multimodal connectivity and logistics efficiency and address critical infrastructure gaps for seamless movement of people and goods with a focus on minimising disruptions and ensuring timely completion of projects. The ministry has undertaken various initiatives for ease of doing business, such as the Model Concession Agreement, flexibility to concessioners, and new tariff guidelines, which are aimed at improving port performance at major ports. However, there is no envisaged structure related to additional incentives for high-performing ports under PM Gati Shakti.
