Construction work at tunnels under the VIP Road-Airport stretch of the Kolkata Metro Expansion Project has been completed. Moreover, twin tunnels near the Bimanbandar metro station and approach tunnel adjacent to the Automated Mail Processing Centre (Airport Post & Telegraph Office) have been completed. The project involves the expansion of the existing metro rail network in Kolkata by 88.55 km with an investment of Rs 119.29 billion.
State grants approval for Gurgaon-Faridabad Metro
The Haryana government has granted approval for the Gurgaon-Faridabad Metro Rail Project. The detailed project report (DPR) for the same has been completed. The metro is likely to have 12 stations. The project involves the development of a 32.14 km long metro rail corridor connecting Gurugram and Faridabad in Haryana.
