The CERC has directed all the power exchanges to re-design their bidding software such that members can quote prices in the range of Re 0-Rs 10 per kWh for all contracts, viz., the day-ahead market (DAM) (including green DAM), real-time market, intra-day, day-ahead contingency and term-ahead (including green term-ahead); and Re 0-Rs 20 per cent kWh in the high-price DAM segment. This is effective from April 4, 2023 onwards until further orders. The move is in view of the prevailing power scenario and the likely spike in demand going forward.
