Bihar portion of the Barauni-Guwahati natural gas pipeline project completed

The Bihar portion of the Barauni-Guwahati natural gas pipeline project has been completed. The pipeline will connect six districts in Bihar to the National Gas Grid. The project, being developed by GAIL (India) Limited under the Pradhan Mantri Urja Ganga project, involves laying of 729 km long natural gas pipeline between Barauni and Guwahati in the states of Bihar and Assam, respectively, which will link the north-eastern part of the country with the national grid to meet increasing fuel needs of households and factories in the region.
