Uber India set to start cab service zones at airports

Cab service zones are to be constructed across various airports as Uber India signs a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Airports Authority of India. The MoU includes all the AAI-managed airports that would be enabled with this service in phases. In January 2023 and February 2023, Uber India reported 100 per cent year-on-year growth in airport trips while one in every 10 trips is an airport trip on its platform. The cab service zone, also called Uber Zone has dedicated pickup and drop points that can be identified with navigation tools provided by Uber. It is also enabled with parking provisions for the driver partners. Currently, Uber India generates around 17 per cent of its revenue from trips to and from airports and expects a further increase in this as the sector grows. More than 3 million commuters used their cab service to travel to airports from January 2023 to March 2023.
