JICA provides funds under third tranche for Mumbai Trans Harbour Link Project

The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has provided funds worth Rs 17.28 billion (JPY 30,755 million) under Tranche III of official development assistance for the Mumbai Trans-Harbour Link Project. About 92 per cent of project work has been completed. The project in­volves the construction of a six-lane road bridge across the Mumbai Har­bour between Sewri on the island city side (in the Mumbai Port Trust ar­ea) and Nhava/Chirle on the Navi Mumbai side in Maharashtra. The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority is implementing the project on an engineering, procurement and construction basis at an investment of Rs 185 billion.
