Tunnelling work commenced for Agra Metro Phase I

Tunnelling work has commenced at Agra Fort’s RamleelaMaidan for Package AGCC-02 of the Agra Metro Rail Project, Phase I. Package AGCC-02 involves the design and construction of a tunnel from the start of the underground ramp near Fatehabad Road metro station, to the end of the ramp after the RBS metro station, covering seven underground metro stations (Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Jama Masjid, S.N. Medical College, Agra Fort, Raja kiMandi and RBS College). The project includes architectural finishes, electrical and mechanical works, and tunnel ventilation systems for Co­rridor 1. The Agra Metro Project involves the deve­lopment of a 30 km long metro rail system in the city at an investment of Rs 83.79 billion.
