NTPC Limited has started the commercial operation of the first 660 MW unit of the North Karanpura super thermal power station (3×660 MW) in Jharkhand. With this, NTPC has commissioned India’s first air-cooled condenser-installed supercritical plant, demonstrating its commitment towards water conservation. This plant will supply power to the states of Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal and Odisha. With this, the standalone and group commercial capacity of NTPC has reached 58,979 MW and 71,594 MW respectively.
