JICA provides funds under third tranche for Mumbai Trans Harbour Link Project

The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has provided funds worth Rs 17.28 billion (JPY 30,755 million) under Tranche III of official development assistance for the MTHL project. About 92 per cent of work has been completed on the same. The project involves the construction of a six-lane road bridge across the Mumbai Harbour, bet­ween Sewri on the island city side (in the Mumbai Port Trust area) and Nhava/Chirle on the Navi Mumbai side. The Mumbai Metropolitan Re­gi­on Development Authority is implementing the project on an EPC ba­sis at an investment of Rs 185 billion.
