MoCA laid the foundation stone of Rewa airport in Madhya Pradesh on February 15, 2023. Currently, the Rewa airfield, spread over an area of 61.95 acres, has a runway of 1,400 metres with a small building of 150 square metres. Owned by the Madhya Pradesh government, it has now been handed over to AAI for the revival and construction of facilities to operate 19-seater aircraft. AAI was awarded construction work in December 2022, including construction of the runway strip and runway end safety area, as well as a 750 square metres terminal building with a peak hour capacity of 50 passengers. It also involves strengthening the existing runway and grading the runway strip area on either side of the runway.
