Darbhanga airport’s land acquisition gets completed

Land acquisition for the Darbhanga airport civil enclave project was completed on February 28, 2023. The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has completed the acquisition of 78 acres of land in Vasudevpur village at an estimated cost of Rs 3.42 billion. The project involves the development of a per­manent civil enclave, expansion of the runway and installation of a night landing facility at Darbhanga airport in Bihar. About 54 acres of land has been acquired to develop the new civil enclave, which includes a terminal building, cargo complex, multi-level car parking, fire station and other infrastructure. The remaining 24 acres is for the installation of a Category 1 instrument landing system, and runway extension.
