Centre inaugurates first stretch of Delhi-Mumbai Expressway

The centre has inaugurated the first phase of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway – the Sohna-Dausa stretch in Rajasthan. The stretch has been built at a cost of over Rs 121.5 billion and spans 246 km. It will reduce the current travel time between Delhi and Jaipur from five hours to three hours, decongesting the Delhi-Jaipur NH-48. With a length of 1,386 km, this will be India’s longest expressway. Additionally, it will have high quality 360-degree cameras, solar panels estimated to save 300 million litres of fuel, and 2 million trees with drip irrigation along the stretch.
