Air India has finalised an order for around 250 aircraft with Airbus and around 220 aircraft with Boeing, in accordance with plans to expand its operations and fleet. The deal is expected to be announced soon. Reportedly, the deal will include 40 wide-body Airbus A350s. Air India will be the first Indian carrier to operate these aircraft, having operated wide-body A330s previously. The airline purchased its last aircraft fleet of 68 Boeing and 43 Airbus aircraft back in 2005 for $10.8 billion.
