MoP issues draft proposal on day ahead operation of SCED

The MoP has issued a draft proposal on the day-ahead operation of security constrained economic despatch (SCED). As per the draft, generating stations will submit their declared capability along with ramp rates and minimum turndown levels for the next day on D-1 by 6 a.m. Regional load despatch centres will prepare the entitlements and declare the share of each beneficiary by 7 a.m. The energy charge rate/compensation charge to be considered for SCED will be submitted by the generating stations on a monthly basis. The day-ahead market (DAM) shall be cleared by 1 p.m., and power exchanges will convey the DAM results to the National Load Despatch Centre thereafter.
