The Haldia multimodal terminal in West Bengal was inaugurated on January 13, 2022. The terminal has been developed under the Jal Marg Vikas project. Four floating community jetties at Saidpur, Chochakpur and Zamania in Ghazipur district and Kanspur in Ballia district, in Uttar Pradesh, were also inaugurated. In addition, foundation stones for five community jetties at Digha, Nakta Diyara, Barh, and Panapur in Patna district and Hasanpur in Samastipur district, in Bihar, were laid. Going forward, more than 60 community jetties are being constructed along the River Ganga across Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal.
