CERC issues draft first amendment to the Connectivity and GNA to the ISTS Regulations

The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has issued the draft CERC (Connectivity and General Network Access to the ISTS) (First Amendment) Regulations, 2023. As per the amendment, an applicant – whether a renewable energy generating station (other than hydro), energy storage system (excluding pumped storage projects) or a renewable power park developer – to which the final grant of connectivity has been issued will have to achieve financial closure for the requisite capacity within a period of 12 months from the date of issuance of the grant of connectivity, if the start date of connectivity is within two years of the date of issuance of the final grant of connectivity; or a period equivalent to 50 per cent of the time period between the issuance of the final grant of connectivity and the start date of connectivity, if the start date of connectivity is more than two years from the date of issuance of the grant of connectivity.
