Centre sets target of Rs 67 billion from asset monetisation in the ports and shipping sector

In a notable development, the centre has set a target of Rs 67 billion from asset monetisation in the ports and shipping sector for financial year 2023-24. Key projects include a Rs 20 billion berth at the Deen­dayal Port (Kandla, Gujarat), a Rs 9.8 billion container terminal at the Haldia Dock Complex of Shyama Prasad Mookerjee Port (Kolkata, West Bengal) and a Rs 3.6 billion dry dock in Vadinar (Gujarat). So far, the go­vernment has ma­naged to raise around Rs 50 billion from asset monetisation in 2022-23.
