Centre inaugurated two Mumbai metro projects

The central government inaugurated the Mumbai Metro Phase I Line 2A and Mumbai Metro Phase III Line 7 projects on January 19, 2023. The Mumbai Metro Phase-I Line 2A project involves the construction of a 18.6 km long metro rail network that will connect Dahisar and DN Nagar in Maharashtra at an investment of Rs 64.1 billion. It will be entirely elevated and will have a car depot at Charkop. It will consist of a total of 17 stations. The Mumbai Metro Phase-III Line 7 project involves the develop­ment of a 16.5 km long metro corridor connecting Andheri (East) to Dahisar (E) at an estimated cost of Rs 62.08 billion.
