Airports Authority of India (AAI) has released Rs 2.29 billion for the upgradation and expansion of the Belagavi Airport in Karnataka. The project involves the expansion of the passenger terminal building, runway extension, apron expansion and installation of aerobridges with a completion period of 3 years. The new terminal building of the airport will be spread across an area of 20,000 square meters having a peak hour passenger handling capacity of around 1,400.
