The World Bank has sanctioned funds worth $200 million as financial assistance for the Shimla Municipal Corporation Supply Scheme. This amount will be disbursed in two parts – $40 million as a development policy loan and $160 million for the programme. This scheme is expected to be complete by 2026. In addition to this, for the already commissioned water supply projects under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) scheme, funds worth Rs 760 million have been allocated for maintenance and upgrades.
