The MNRE has granted time extension to solar power projects under Tranches I, II and III of the central public sector undertaking (CPSU) scheme Phase II till September 30, 2024. According to the MNRE, representations were received for extending the timelines for these projects primarily on account of supply chain disruptions in the solar PV sector. The issue was examined and it has been decided that implementing agencies Solar Energy Corporation of India (for Tranches I and II) and Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (for Tranche III) may extend the scheduled commissioning date till September 30, 2024 of projects that are scheduled to be commissioned before September 30, 2024, and that wish to avail of such time extension.
