Indian Navy commissions INS Mormugao

The Indian Navy has commissioned the second warship of the P15B class of stealth, guided-missile destroyers, INS Mormugao (D67), at the Naval Dockyard, Mumbai. The indigenous content in P15B class destroyers is more than 75 per cent, which is much higher than their predecessors P15A (59 per cent) and P15 (42 per cent) class destroyers. The ship is designed by the Indian Navy’s Warship Design Bureau and has incorporated new design concepts for improved survivability, seakeeping and manoeuvrability. Also, enhanced stealth has been achieved, which will make the ship difficult to detect.
