The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has reported that the air passenger traffic in India increased by more than 50 per cent in 2022 as compared to 2021. The number of passengers carried by domestic airlines during January-November 2022 was 110.5 million as against 72.61 million during the same period in 2021, registering an annual growth of 52.19 per cent. Moreover, a year-on-year growth of 11 per cent was observed in passengers carried by airlines, from 10.52 million in November 2021 to 11.68 million in November 2022.
