Rs 980 billion worth capital gets allocated for aviation sector

The Airport Authority of India and other airport developers have set out a capital outlay of approximately Rs 980 billion for the aviation sector over the next five years. This includes the expansion and modification of existing terminals, construction of new terminals, and strengthening of runways. The modernisation and upgradation of airport infrastructure would depend on land availability, traffic demand, the willingness of airlines, socio-economic factors and commercial viability.
