IR registers 76 per cent increase in passenger earnings

IR’s total approximate earnings on originating basis in the April to Novem­ber 2022 period stood at Rs 433.24 billion, an increase of 76 per cent from the Rs 246.31 billion earned during the corresponding period last year. In the reserved passenger segment, the total number of passengers booked during the period April 1 to November 30, 2022 was ap­p­roximately 536.5 million, as compared to 486 million during the same period last year, registering an increase of 10 per cent. The revenue generated from the reserved passenger segment period April 1 to November 30, 2022 stood at Rs 343.03 billion as compared to Rs 229.04 billion during the same period last year, registering an increase of 50 per cent. In the unreserved passenger segment, the total number of passengers booked during the period April 1 to November 30, 2022 was approximately 3,527.3 million, 155 per cent higher than the passengers booked du­ring the corresponding period last year (1,381.3 million). The revenue generated from the unreserved passenger segment during April 1 to November 30, 2022 was Rs 90.21 billion, 422 per cent higher than the earnings during the same period last year (Rs 17.28 billion).
