2,053 hectares of land acquired for Noida International Greenfield Airport

The Uttar Pradesh government has approved the acquisition of 2,053 hectares of land for Phases III and IV of the Noida (Jewar) International Greenfield Airport project. The project involves the development of a greenfield airport in Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh at an investment of Rs 295.6 billion. While 1,334 hectares have already been handed over to the concessionaire for the construction of the first phase, the acquisition process for the 1,365 hectares needed for the second phase is un­derway. The airport will have six runways and four terminal buildings, with the capacity to cater to 225 million passengers annually and handle 10 million tonnes of cargo by 2070.
