The third unit of the Sri Damodaram Sanjeevaiah Thermal Power Station has been inaugurated at Nellore district, Andhra Pradesh. The 800 MW supercritical unit has been built to generate 19 MUs of electricity per day, with an aim to increase the power generation capacity in the state. The Krishnapatnam plant has four units. Two units of 800 MW each under Stage 1 are already generating power. The third unit, an 800 MW plant under Stage 2, was completed with a loan of Rs 59.36 billion from the Power Finance Corporation and Rs 10 billion from the State Electricity Finance Corporation.
