Sembcorp buys Vector Green Energy

Singapore’s Sembcorp Industries Limited has agreed to purchase Global Infrastructure Partners’ Vector Green Energy platform at an equity value of around Rs 27.80 billion to expand its renewable energy footprint in India to 3 GW. Sembcorp has invested $4 billion in India and intends to focus on green energy projects in the country, which is undergoing the world’s greatest clean energy transition. The completion of the transaction will augment the Singapore-based group’s gross renewable energy capacity to 8.5 GW, closer to its 2025 target of 10 GW of gross installed renewable capacity.
